Alternative One

Alternative Two

Alternative Three

Although each alternative reflects a somewhat different perspective on what the pledge's exact wording should ultimately be, they nevertheless share the common nationalistic ideal of  religious neutrality.  Even though there are differing opinions about exact wording, there are many nevertheless united in the common goal of having the current "under God" version of the pledge stricken from government statute.  That is the fundamental bottom line. One of the strongest efforts in this regard is the movement to have the pledge's wording restored to its pre-1954 state (alternative one).  Therefore, regardless of differences in detailed wording preferences it is most strongly urged that their movement be given your full support.  To that end, please visit the pledge petition website and add your "John Henry" to the roles.
